These UV printed texture patches for All Out Disposal mark a first for Mags Custom: they were the first customer we produced this raised, tactile patch style for.
At first glance, the patches deliver bold full-color branding. Look closer—or run your fingers across the surface—and the difference becomes obvious. Selected lettering and design elements rise above the leatherette base, creating texture you can actually feel.

Our First UV Printed Texture Patch Project
All Out Disposal gave us the opportunity to introduce this new patch process with a design built to make an impact. Their artwork uses strong colors, large lettering, and clear business branding, making it a natural fit for a dimensional print treatment.
Instead of producing a completely flat print, we used UV printing to build up selected areas of the design in layers. That additional ink creates visible height and a tactile finish. The writing does not simply look like it pops off the patch—it physically does.
This is what makes the finished patch different. It still communicates the company name and visual identity from a distance, but it rewards a closer look with another level of detail.
What Is a Texture Build Patch?
A texture build patch uses multiple passes of UV ink to create raised areas over the patch surface. Those layers can be placed on lettering, borders, icons, or other selected parts of the artwork.
The result combines color, dimension, contrast, and touch. Depending on the design, raised elements can make a company name feel heavier, give an outline more definition, or help an important part of the logo stand apart from the background.
For the All Out Disposal patches, the textured writing became the feature. It adds depth without losing the clean readability needed for branded apparel and promotional use.
Branding That Uses More Than One Sense
Most branded products compete for attention visually. UV printed texture patches add another sensation to the experience. Customers see the color and dimension first, then feel the raised design when they touch the patch.
That combination makes the patch more memorable. It creates a reason to look closer, pick up the product, and talk about how it was made. For a business trying to stand out, that physical interaction can turn a simple logo patch into a small conversation starter.
This is why we see textured patches as more than decoration. They can become a compact marketing tool—one that carries a logo while also giving customers and employees something distinctive to notice and remember.

A Brand-New Option from Mags Custom
Texture build printing is a brand-new addition to the custom patch options available through Mags Custom. The All Out Disposal order was our first finished project using the process, and it showed exactly why this technique has so much potential.
The best results begin with artwork that has clear areas we can intentionally raise. Large lettering, strong borders, simple icons, and layered graphic elements can all be good candidates. We can review the design and determine which details will benefit most from added texture.
Ways to Use UV Printed Texture Patches
Raised UV patches can create a premium branded detail for:
- Company hats and employee apparel
- Customer giveaways and promotional products
- Contractor, service, and trade brands
- Sports teams, clubs, and organizations
- Limited-edition merchandise
- Event, sponsor, and milestone branding
Every design does not need texture everywhere. In many cases, selecting just the company name, border, or one recognizable feature creates the strongest result. The contrast between smooth and raised areas is what gives the patch its character.
